Recipe - Caramel Apple Cider

I didn't grow up drinking apple cider. The first time I tried something close to it was when I worked at Starbucks as a barista in college. We had a drink called ‘Caramel Apple Spice,’ a warm, sweet, spiced drink with creamy caramel and whipped cream. I instantly fell in love, and naturally, had to try to recreate it! Check out my Caramel Apple Cider recipe, below, and let me know if you love it!!

Caramel Apple Cider

2-3 Servings

Ingredients:

4 cups of apple cider or apple juice

4 tablespoons of store bought caramel sauce

3 cinnamon sticks

2 star anise

1 teaspoon of nutmeg

8 cloves

1 orange, sliced

1 apple, sliced

Whipped cream for a topping

Add the apple cider, 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce, the cinnamon sticks, star anise, nutmeg, cloves, sliced orange and sliced apple to a medium pot. Bring this to a slow simmer, and allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes. You can actually warm it for longer, but don't let it boil!

When ready to serve, pour the hot cider mixture into two mugs. Top with your favorite whipped topping, and drizzle a tablespoon of caramel on top of each drink. Garnish with an apple slice (optional) and enjoy!!

Let me know if you try this easy, delicious recipe this holiday!!
